What This Feature Does
- Assign a single tag company to a driver for payroll purposes
- Process driver settlements and generate pay statements under that tag
- Keep load management tags separate from payroll tags
🔧 Step-by-Step: How to Set It Up
1. Create a Tag Company
If you haven't created tag companies yet:
- Go to Settings → Tags (bottom left)
- Click “+ Add Tag”
- Enter the tag name (e.g., "Blue Line LLC", "Parent Company West")
- Save
Tip: You can create as many tag companies as needed — each one represents a legal entity or division you want to pay under.
2. Assign Tag for Payroll (NOT Load Management)
Navigate to:
Assets → Drivers → Accounting → Customize
- Choose the driver from the list
- Select the tag company you want to pay them under
(⚠️ You can only assign one tag per driver for payroll) - Click Customize
- Set up their pay items (e.g., loaded miles, bonuses)
- Click Save
3. Assign Loads to the Driver (Normal Process)
Create and assign loads to the driver like usual. This tag assignment won’t affect dispatch.
4. Process Driver Pay
Go to:
Accounting → Driver Pay Manager
- Find the trip for that driver
- Click “End Trip” to view the settlement
- Make any adjustments to pay items (edit/delete/add)
- Click Approve
5. View the Driver Pay Invoice
Once approved:
- The pay stub/invoice will show the Tag Company as the payer
- The driver’s name and details are still listed as the payee
- All regular load/payment details remain unchanged
Want to Change the Tag Company?
To change the tag a driver is paid under:
- Go back to Accounting → Customize
- Select the driver
- Change their assigned tag company
- Save
Note: Changing the tag will affect future pay runs, not past ones.
Reminders
- Tags on the Driver Overview tab are used for load management and do not affect pay
- Tags used for payroll must be set in Accounting → Customize
- Each driver can only have one payroll tag at a time
