It allows you to group, filter, and manage your operations more efficiently—all within a single platform.

Why Use Tags If You Run Multiple MCs or Subsidiaries?
If you’re managing multiple companies under one TMS, tags can help you:
- Segregate operations between different MCs or companies
- Track load activity per tag/company
- Assign drivers and equipment to specific branches
- Customize reporting and analytics by tag
- Improve compliance tracking (e.g., inspections or insurance by MC)
- Avoid operational overlap by clarifying which loads or drivers belong to which business entity
How to Create and Use Tags in Truckpedia TMS
Step 1: Define Your Tagging Strategy
Before diving in, define how you want to use tags. For example:
- Use your MC numbers as tags (e.g., MC123456, MC789012)
- Use company names or acronyms (e.g., ETC-KY, ETC-TN, Express Sub1)
- Use department or business unit labels if managing divisions (e.g., Dry Van Ops, Brokerage Division)
Make your tags short, clear, and consistent.
Step 2: Create Tags in Truckpedia TMS
- Go to the Settings section
- Navigate to Tags under Company.
- Click “Create Tag”
- Give the tag a name that reflects the company or MC.

- Save the tag- Hit Submit.
You can create multiple tags in advance, or create them as needed while editing entities.
Step 3: Apply Tags to Entities
Tags can be applied to many key components in the TMS:
- Drivers: Assign each driver to a specific MC or company.
- Loads: Tag loads based on the operating MC or affiliate company.
- Assets (Trucks/Trailers): Ensure assets are labeled according to ownership.
- Users: Differentiate between the staff of multiple companies by assigning tags to the user.
To tag an entity:
- Open the Driver, Load, Truck, or Customer record.
- Click on the Tag field (usually labeled “Tags” or under "Company Info").
- Select one or more tags from the dropdown.
- Click Save.
Step 4: Filter and Report by Tags
Once your system is tagged, you can:
- Use the Filter by Tag function in dashboards (Trucks, Drivers, etc.).
- Overviews grouped or sorted by tag (e.g.,Company Overview).
