Dynamic rates adjust based on market conditions, enabling instant quotes. Adding rates automatically updates the section for quick quoting in your webpage.
Step 1: Access the Rates Section
To begin, log into your Truckpedia TMS account and go to the Rates section from the main dashboard.
Step 2: Add a New Lane
Once you’re in the Rates section, click on the Add New Lane button to start setting up your rates. This is where you’ll input the details for a specific lane, such as origin, destination, and equipment type.
Step 3: Select the Equipment Type
Choose the type of equipment for the lane you’re adding. Options include van, reefer, or flatbed. Let’s say you’re setting up a rate for a reefer; simply select that option from the dropdown list.
Next, input the origin and destination for the lane. For example, you might choose Dallas, Texas as the origin and St. Louis, Missouri as the destination.
In the next fields, enter the deadhead (distance between pickup and first load) and the maximum weight that can be hauled for this lane.
Step 6: Set the Dynamic Rate
Now, you’re ready to set your dynamic rate. This rate is based on the current market conditions and will automatically adjust accordingly. Enter the rate percentage you’d like to apply (for example, 10%). Once you’ve input the rate, click Save to confirm your changes.
Step 7: Add More Lanes (If Needed)
You can set up multiple lanes for different routes and equipment types based on your needs.
Step 8: Handling Non-Dynamic Rates
Dynamic rates are only available for dry van, reefer, and flatbed equipment types. For any other equipment types, you will need to manually update the rates on a regular basis to account for market fluctuations.
By following these steps, you can easily set up dynamic rates in your TMS account and ensure your pricing is always aligned with current market trends.
