Custom Attributes Overview

Custom Attributes let you track fields specific to your business that Truckpedia doesn't have a built-in field for. Once you create one, you can apply it to loads, trucks, or trailers.

Creating a Custom Attribute
  1. Go to Settings > Admin > Custom Attributes.
  2. Click to add a new Custom Attribute.
  3. Label the attribute (e.g., "Hazmat").
  4. Choose what it applies to: Load, Truck, or Trailer.
  5. Choose the field type: Multi-select, Text, Number, or Date.
    • If you choose Multi-select, add your options (e.g., Yes / No — you can add a third option if you need one).
  6. Click Save (or Update if editing an existing attribute).

Example: Tracking Hazmat Loads
  • Attribute: Hazmat
  • Applies to: Load
  • Field type: Multi-select
  • Options: Yes / No (add more if needed)

 

Example: Tracking a Secondary Plate
  • Attribute: Secondary Plate
  • Applies to: Truck and Trailer
  • Field type: Text, Number, or Date — whichever fits what you're tracking

Adding a Custom Attribute to a Load
  1. Go to Dispatch.
  2. Open the load you're building or viewing.
  3. Go to add attribute on the load.
  4. Select the attribute and set its value (e.g., Hazmat: Yes).

Anyone who views the load will see the attribute and its value.

Adding a Custom Attribute to an Asset (Truck/Trailer)
  1. Go to Trucks (or Trailers).
  2. Select the specific asset.
  3. Go to Custom Attributes on that asset.
  4. If the attribute isn't assigned yet, add it.
  5. Select the attribute and enter the value.
