Creating a load in Truckpedia TMS is easy with several options. You can drag and drop a ratecon, manually input load details, use a lane template for recurring shipments, or set up EDI for automated load creation and tracking updates.
1. Drag and Drop a Ratecon
If you have a ratecon document, you can simply drag and drop it into the system to automatically create a load.
Steps:
- Navigate to the Dispatch module.
- Click New Load.
- Select the Drag and Drop Files option.
- Drop the ratecon file into the designated area.
The system will auto-fill the load information from the ratecon. While this is a quick method, always verify that the information is accurate after it’s been auto-filled.
Once the data had been autofilled and verified, you can fill in any missing information like Driver, Truck, Direction, and click Submit.
If the load does not have a driver assigned yet, it will show under “Open” on your board, if a driver has been assigned, it will show under “Dispatched”.
2. Manually Input the Load Information
If you prefer to enter the details yourself, you can manually input all of the load information, including dates, addresses, shipper and receiver details, and more.
Steps:
- Go to the Dispatch module.
- Click New Load.
- Manually enter all the required fields, such as origin, destination, dates, and other relevant information.
3. Use a Lane Template (For Recurring Lanes)
If you regularly work with the same shipper or have recurring lanes, you can create a lane template for faster load creation. This method auto-fills the load details based on predefined customer lanes.
Steps:
- Go to the Customer section in the system.
- Find the customer you work with often. If they are not in the system already, select “Add New Customer”
- Once the customer is added, scroll to the right and click
- Under the Customer tab, select Lanes.
- Click Add New Lane.
- Fill in the lane details, including origin, destination, distance, and any other necessary notes.
- Save the lane.
Once the lane is created, you can easily select it when creating a new load, and the system will auto-fill all the information.
Steps to Use the Lane Template:
- When creating a new load, select Customer Lanes.
- Choose the pre-configured lane, and the system will auto-fill the information.
This will auto fill the information from the lane template. Click Submit.
